I think many would have thought that after unveiling the much awaited smartwatch, Apple has been dried of the ideas. But to surprise of many, there is yet many things the Apple has up its sleeve to ks and gadget enthusiasts.

Here comes Apple's Drone!! Surprised? Well some may be as drone may not have been on the wish list of gadgets geeks as far Apple is concerned.

The drone or should we say 'iDrone' has surfaced - though in a conceptual stage. But the photos leaked show something sleek and curvy that may one day be darling of the gadget lovers or those who love to fly remotely controlled planes.

As can be seen from the leaked photos, the iDrone is likely to be equipped with four cameras that may provide a panoramic aerial view live.

The iDrone is likely to be be seen in the sky around you a year from now in 2016.

What to buy - iPad Mini or Nexus 7?

The race never finishes, both for the gadget makers and the gadget geeks.

Lately, there has been a a bombardment of gadgets like smartphones, tablets and pads not only providing countless options for the buyers, but also confusing them so much that at the end of the day, one feels exhausted, clueless and confused as to what to chose from the armada of gadgets and which one to discard.

Ask me if I want to chose between iPad mini by Apple and the Nexus - and I will give you an equally confused and laborious comparison that will make you throw your money in the Thames River and go home licking an ice cream cone. 

But hold on - there is someone making sense and I thought I should share and help those sitting holding their head and comparing the technical data of both gadgets. I came across one comparison at Chip Hazard by Wahaab JB which has given a good run down of the two gadgets for the benefit of us all.

The final verdict of the expert says that Nexus 7 stands out well clear of iPad Mini for being cheap, portable and flexible, laced with a better display than non-retina iPad and is certainly more powerful.

The Nexus 7 cost much cheaper than the costly iPad Mini as the former costs $199 the minimum, while Apple's iPad Mini costs $329.

Now it is Apple's turn for a Mini

After Samsung unveiled its Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini, now it is Apple's turn to dish out a iPhone 5 Mini. iPhone 5 which is already slimmer, one wonders what its mini model will be like.

Any apprehensions notwithstanding, news is that Apple has sent out invitations on Tuesday for an event in exactly one week's time where the company is widely expected to unveil a new "iPad Mini," a smaller version of its market-leading tablet computer.

Several news organisations received the invitations for the 23 October event taking place in San Jose, California. Reports have been swirling for months about the smaller version of the market-leading iPad, but Apple has made no comment.

Fixing iPhone 5 Camera’s Purple Haze to cost iPhone loyalists $ 24.95 more

When you area loyalist of a gadget, you have to pay a little extra to keep and maintain it. And this what is going to happen to the Apple and iPhone 5 loyalists to fix the Purple Haze they may be experiencing when using the iPhone 5 camera.

Like many bugs that the Apple's newly launched iPhone 5 has, besides the map app, is the camera output which gives a purple haze and mars the picture quality. However, Apple has hurriedly responded to the issue, saying that users could remedy this by re-positioning the phone. But can this solve the problem?

Don’t worry, says Wahaab JB at Chip Hazard. Apple isn’t the only solution for this, you might be interested to hear that Fotodiox, an Illinois-based case-maker, has created an iPhone 5 case that it claims will fix that purple flare issue which the Cupertino company fails to solve.

CNET points to the new cover, which places a piece of rubber over the iPhone’s iSight lens to help keep stray light from coming in. Apparently it’s this extra light that causes the purple flare to show up in still photos and videos. See the following sample from the company which shows just how much their case is worth.

Apple Maps: Not as good as Google

These days there is so much to talk about cell phones. We have so many phones coming up in the market with unique features, trying to overtake other competitors. While LG has thrown the Optimus G monster and Motorola has announced a 2GHz Intel processor for its RAZR, the focus of attention remains Apple's iPhone 5 and its features.

For a change, Apple has this time tried to rely on its own apps and technology, rather than banking on the borrowed one. And the new map app for iPhone 5 is one of the many features of iPhone 5 under scrutiny by analysts and users.

MG Siegler at TechCrunch: "I don’t think they’re as good as Google Maps, but they’re not bad by any stretch of the imagination," however he says that no public transit in the app sucks if you live in a town where public transit is important.

Well that is one view point, but others disagree and say that Apple's indigenous map app is a flop and difficult to handle. What do you say?

Samsung Galaxy S4 likely to be launched February 2013

Well the launch of Apple's iPhone 5 has disappointed many, even the Apple iPhone users. All that is new is that it is sleek and loner - just like a TV remote control. With a few small improvements here and there, there is nothing 'substantial' that could make someone really want to buy iPhone 5, except by those who want to hold a 'latest device,' nothing more, nothing less.

Samsung, which has better phones, easy to operate and load software, rather than getting into lengthy jailbreaking, is becoming more popular even in Apple's home country - the USA.

While Samsung Galaxy S III has shown better business and much more technologically advanced that the Apple devices, has now decided to bring in Samsung Galaxy S4. 

As reported by Wahaab JB at Chip Hazard, the Galaxy S4 is reported to launch/unveil at the  annual Mobile World Congress conference in Barcelona, Spain and would release the next month (March).

The next Galaxy is likely to feature a five-inch screen (versus 4.8-inch on the SIII) and LTE capabilities and will allegedly run Samsung’s quad-core Exynos processor. From the outside, Samsung’s phone will “retain its popular rectangular shape with rounded corner concept”.

Well for those who have been disappointed by the grim features of iPhone 5, they have now a  new gadget coming early next year, which may overshadow the Apple's new iPhone 5 and force it to go for another iPhone 5 S(tretched) with no well defined edge over Samsung.

The 'war of phones' may never end between Samsung and Apple.

Do you NEED to buy iPhone 5?

Well now that the genie is out and Apple has unleashed its latest and much awaited iPhone, the oft question being asked now is: Do you need to buy iPhone 5, if you already have iPhone 4S?

Well to have a latest gadget in your hand may be one thing to show off, but would it bring any substantial change in the hardware you had been carrying in the form of iPhone 4S?

Well those who have iPhone 4S already and are a bit of tech geeks would know not to spend money for a marginal edge over their existing phone in its outward looks only - something sleek and lighter and of course new and 'latest.' But what resides inside is another story.

And the news is that Apple is reducing the price of iPhone 4S 16 GB model to $99 - well that is something substantial. With iPhone equipped with a 8MP camera, as iPhone 5 too has, what additional benefit one gets in buying a $199 iPhone?

Those buying iPhone 5 would say that it has new iOS 6, bringing in new features like a new Map App. But this map is to be downloaded separately and is not part of iOS 6.

And the sleek iPhone 5 is longer than iPhone 4S which slides easily in your pocket. Imagine iPhone 5's edge popping out of your pocket, like a lamp-genie itching to be released!!

Well soon the euphoria and hype of iPhone 5 would be over as more is known about its 'additional features' and hardware performance. And what if after a few weeks or months Apple announces iPhone 5S improving the drawbacks in iPhone 5 after customer feedback, just like it did after iPhone 4? What would you do then?

I think after reading comments and analyses on internet, I will hold on to my previous phone and wait till Apple brings out something substantial, competitive and inviting as compared to many advanced android based smartphones available in the market, free from the hassle of jailbreaking and other Apple and iPhone specific restrictions.

As per the comparison above, Samsung Galaxy SIII is the lowest radiating smartphone in the market. The next highest radiating smartphone is Motorola Droid, while at the top we have Blackberry Bold 9700, followed by Apple's infamous iPhone 4S.

As can be seen, the maximum permissible Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) for human body is 1.6 w/kg, and Blackberry Bold 9700 is almost touching the allowable SAR - and Apple's iPhone 4S is not far. 

We normally go for the brightly lit bigger screen, features, tons of apps and the brand name - but very few go for features like SAR which is more harmful for our bodies than providing us countless features and apps. We're all very familiar with the concept of All You Can Eat, from the artery-clogging Vegas buffet to the less-literal digital equivalents such as Netflix for TV shows/movies, the various digital music subscription services, and evenAudiobooks.com for audio-books.

Head-mounted iPhone - a challenge to Google Glasses?

Although Google Glasses have yet to reach common users - but already Apple is reported to be working on a wearable, head-mounted version of its his iPhone.

Patents uncovered this week show that the technology giant has been investigating a head-mounted display with transparent glass. 

Google showed off early versions of its own 'computer glasses' - Project Glass - earlier this week. Companies such as Epson have already rushed to make their own versions. 

Apple's patents, filed in 2006, suggest that the company has been interested in the technology for a considerable time.

What would be iPhone 5 Like?

When instead of iPhone, Apple brought out a mid way solution between iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 in the shape of iPhone 4S, many Apple enthusiasts were terribly disappointed and annoyed. Even those who opted to buy iPhone 4S were equally disappointed - but the wiser elected to wait for iPhone whenever it may come.

Now speculators are worrying what would be iPhone 5 like?

I have gone through a series of posts on iPhone 5 and thought I should combine all these to let the iPhone 5 enthusiasts know how would iPhone would look like or should I say would be expected to look.

Speculation-1: iPhone 5 to have Dual-Core CPU, 1GB RAM and SGX543 GPU Variant.

Speculation-2: iPhone 5 will have a taller glass panel as compared to iPhone 4S.

Speculation-3: iPhone 5 to have a Metal Back Plate.

Speculation-4:  The next iPhone would support a variant of A5x chip which would contain an ARM S5L8950X processing core, 1GB of RAM and “something entirely new” for the graphics subsystem. 

Speculation-5: The next iPhone would be referenced as a model iPhone 5,1 or “N41AP”.

Speculation-6: The GPU chip, which will continue to be part of the SoC, is called “SGX543RC*” (the asterisk is another sensitive number that could identify people working on the device) - This GPU technically does not exist yet.

Well people had many expectations when iPhone 4S surfaced - but their hopes and expectations were shattered. I wonder what would happen when iPhone 5 or whatever it would be called is introduced. 

In the meantime Samsung Galaxy S-III is making headlines and has enormous features. Would iPhone % beat it? What do you say?

We previously reported the new SeasonPass 4.4.4 utility for Apple TV 2 release which can perform an untethered jailbreak on Apple TV second generation. The utility was made using pod2g’s exploits which helped hackers to develop the jailbreak for Apple Tv. To use the utility, the step by step procedure is detailed right after the jump !.

How To Jailbreak Apple TV 2G iOS 4.4.4 ( Untethered ) Using SeasonPass :-

STEP 1: Download the latest  version of SeasonPass (LINK).

STEP 2: Run the utility and click on the button “Create IPSW”.

STEP 3: After the IPSW procedure is finished, connect your Apple TV 2 with your Mac using a USB Micro cable and then on your Apple TV remote hold : Menu+Play for 7 seconds.

STEP 4: After doing the above procedure, your Apple 2 TV device should enter the DFU mode and then the iTunes will take of the rest using the custom firmware you made from the utility.

STEP 5: Once iTunes has done its job, connect your Apple TV with you TV to enjoy the freedom!.
