Poached Eggs

Don’t laugh at me on this post as poached eggs are the easiest of the recipes ever. But let me still tell you as some may not even know how to poach an egg.

All you need is an egg, or as many eggs you want to be poached, and 1-2 teaspoons of rice vinegar (other types of vinegar may also work.

OK here is the ‘recipe.” Take a shallow saucepan, have it half filled and bring to water to almost boiling point. That is to say it has stopped bubbling, if it was already boiling. Now add vinegar into it. Why vinegar you may ask!! Well vinegar helps the egg white to set or solidify easily. Now crack an egg and let the egg gently slide into the water. Once done, gather the egg white close to the egg yolk – this will help the egg whites hold together. Now turn off the heat and let the egg white to cook for 3-4 minutes in the almost boiling water.

Those finding difficulty in containing the egg, can use a egg rings or mason jar rings.

Now take out the egg gently from the pan and you have poached egg ready to eat. Easy, wasn't it?

You have an egg ready to eat with no oil, least calories and made in just a few minutes. But remember, you will have to get used to eating a poached egg as it may not have that oily taste of a fried egg. But if you are watching your weight, poached egg is the best.
