Skywatchers enjoy Lunar Eclipse

[ via Jaho Jalal ]

Tonight was the full lunar eclipse and the last eclipse of 2011. Like every year, I also had my camera ready to shoot the moon in its various stages. And here it is how it the journey began from full bright disk to red glowing moon by around 7:15 hours Pakistan Standard Time.

And while watching and shooting, I also prayed for the well being of every living being on earth and also prayed for the end to wars that are everywhere - wars that powers fight to show their muscles away from their lands, in which innocent people get killed by forces unknown to them. Let this last eclipse of 2011 usher in a brighter 2012, which is just days away - a new year free of wars and explosions and exploitation of the weak and meek.

Solar Eclipse on 25 November

On Friday, 25 November 2011, a solar eclipse will sweep across the southern part of the world, with the Moon covering about 80% of the Sun at the south pole.

Only viewers close enough to Antarctica — in Cape Town, South Africa, near sunrise, and in the Australian island of Tasmania and the South Island of New Zealand near sunset — will be able to see the Sun eclipsed.

Lunar Eclipse 15-16 June 2011

I have just shot the beginning of the lunar eclipse from my home in Islamabad, Pakistan at around 1115 PM local time and am sharing it with my viewers.

I will try to keep track of the eclipse as long as possible and keep updating on it.

OK, this is my second capture of the eclipse around 1150 PM local time at Islamabad, Pakistan.
Around midnight

The high tension wire passing in front of my house came in between the shying moon and my inquisitive camera
This was it - almost complete eclipse at 1220 AM on 16th June 2011. Thereafter it was just a faintly glowing disc, but my camera batteries discharged and I could not continue shooting the shying moon.
